HERE WE ARE IN THE YEAR 2022 – LET US STAND TALL AND REPRESENT

Here we are a Republic in the year 2022 and we must welcome this year for the best we have to offer. Each one of us must stand up tall and represent. It has not been easy the pandemic – wave after wave, surge after surge and we are dealing with the adverse impacts – getting vaccinated, taking the booster – wearing the mask – eating right, exercising, meditating, soothing our soul with music. In my case writing and trying to uplift as many as I can. San Francisco offers us a lot – we have the best of everything – good climate, people from all over the world – world renowned institutions of learning – hospitals, research, museums and the list goes on. Knocking on our doors daily are the fanatics – they refuse to take the vaccine. There are those who want us to listen to them and believe in their nonsense. On many fronts we are bombarded with misinformation and disinformation. We must not permit divisiveness to gain ground – we must resist and stand for values that embrace all. We the people rule – we the people must be educated on issues. We the people can take others to a better place – with our heart in the right place. I served my nation and I know what war looks like in all of its sordid dimensions. We say we are a world power – that notion has been disputed. The nations such as China are no longer weak – now armed better and our democracy is in peril. We must NOT permit the incident that happened on January 6, 2021 at Capitol Hill happen again. That one incident is a clarion call – for us to understand our Constitution and our Republic. There is freedom and there is license – abuse of freedom is license. Let us stand tall and represent.
