Here is where they have been excavating Ohlone burial grounds. On the left is a deep trench that was dug to find the outskirts of a burial mound over 200 feet long. In this trench they found artifacts and shells. In the center photo the machine is excavating huge amounts of soil without any monitors present, in an area where a burial mound was found in 1840. In the photo on the right old utility pipelines are being removed by Pacific Bell for a new fiber optic utility corridor. This area has shells all over the place and was once densely inhabited.
